Uruguayan cyclist Jorge Bravo kept the overall lead Thursday in the 64th Tour of Uruguay after the seventh stage, of eleven in total, won by his countryman Emanuel Yanez and Argentine cyclist Christian Clavero clocking the same time.
Local club Treinta y Tres cyclist Yanez, and Argentine cyclist Christian Clavero, of local team Maldonado, both clocked three hours 42 minutes and 23 seconds, averaging 43.4 kph on the 161 km Mercedes-Carmelo stage, in southwestern Uruguay.
Brazilian Francisco Chamorro, of San Pablo team Sundown, arrived one minute five seconds behind the winners.
Bravo, who crossed the finish line with Chamorro's squad, remains overall leader in the individual classification with 20:17:20.
Argentine cyclist Sebastian Cancio is overall second, lagging two seconds behind Yanez.
Cuban Daniel Fuentes, member of Uruguay's Cruz del Sur team, and Uruguayan Richard Mascaralas, Alas Rojas local squad member, share third place, 12 seconds behind the leader.
Friday's 163-km 8th stage will run from southern Carmelo city to San Jose city.
The 1,400-km tour, the main Uruguayan cycling competition and the oldest such race on the continent, ends Sunday in Montevideo. This year it attracted 120 cyclists from Argentina, Brazil, Cuba and Uruguay.
