Singapore and Malaysia on Friday set out to promote more exchanges in broadcasting including regular joint productions of entertainment content for television.
It was announced when Malaysian Minister of Information Datuk Seri Zainuddin Maidin, who is in Singapore for an official visit from April 5 to 7, met Singapore's Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts Lee Boon Yang, according to a government statement.
The two countries would jointly produce music shows, television programs and films regularly.
"We can have a co-production that we can produce a musical program, a continuing program, once a week. Maybe I am too ambitious but this can be done. It's not impossible," local television Channel NewsAsia quoted Datuk Seri Zainuddin Maidin as saying.
The two ministers also discussed the challenges of the new media.
