Madagascan Prime Minister Charles Rabemananjara expressed his hope on Friday that Madagascar and China strengthen cooperation in judicial and procuratorial fields.
Judicial and procuratorial organs of Madagascar and China should exchange their experiences and learn from each other, Rabemananjara said during a meeting with Jia Chunwang, Procurator- General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate of the People's Republic of China, who arrived here on Thursday for a two-day working visit.
The aims and targets for judicial and procuratorial organs of the two countries were the same though political and judicial systems between Madagascar and China are different, he said, adding that he was pleased to see the remarkable progress made in the friendly cooperation between judicial and procuratorial organs of the two countries.
Madagascar would learn some experience from China in its ongoing judicial reform and in the implementation of the national economic and political action plan announced early last month, the prime minister told Jia Chunwang.
Jia Chunwang, who arrived here from South Africa, expressed his gratitude to Madagascan government for its One-China policy and its rejection of Taiwan's independence.
China would enhance cooperation with the Indian Ocean island country in the fields of personal training, professional and information exchanges between judicial organs of the two countries, Jia said.
China would also provide office equipment to judicial organizations of Madagascar, he told the prime minister.
Soon after his arriving in Antananarivo, Jia Chunwang held talks with Madagascar's Justice Minister Ms. Lala Henriette Ratsiharovala on judicial and procuratorial systems and judicial reforms.
While in Johannesburg, South Africa, Jia Chunwang, also Chairman of International Association of Anti-corruption Authorities (IAACA), presided over the first meeting of the Executive Committee of the IAACA.
Jia Chunwang and his delegation is scheduled to leave here on Saturday.
