Over 100 people rallied in front of the U.S. embassy in Madrid on Sunday to protest against the killing of a Spanish cameraman in Iraq in 2003.

The two-hour protest commemorated the death of Spain's Telecinco television network cameraman Jose Couso, who was killed on April 8, 2003, when a U.S. army tank fired a shell at a hotel in Baghdad where several journalists were staying.

The collective Brothers, Friends and Colleagues of Jose Couso organized the rally, calling for justice for what they described as a murder.

Protestors carried banners reading "No more imperialist deaths", "The U.S. killed Couso" and "The U.S. kills witnesses".

Jose was "murdered for wishing to show the world, with the images he recorded, the abuses of the powerful," said Javier, Couso's brother who, together with another brother David, led the demonstration.

Spanish journalists Olga Rodriguez and Teresa Aranguren read the Manifesto Against Impunity, which spoke of the Spanish Supreme Court's order to investigate Couso's death.

The Supreme Court has issued arrest warrants for Shawn Gibson, Philip Wolford and Philip de Camp, the three American soldiers involved in Couso's death.

The United States has acknowledged that the tank fired the shell but cleared the three accused of blame.
