Three U.S. soldiers were killed and another wounded in two explosions near their patrol in the capital, the U.S. military said on Tuesday.
The attack took place on Monday when a roadside bomb and secondary explosions detonated near their vehicle in southeastern Baghdad, the military said in a statement.
The names of the killed soldiers are being withheld pending notification of next of kin, it added.
More than 3,280 U.S. soldiers have been killed in Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion in March 2003, according to media count based on Pentagon figures.
