Algerian Workers' General Union (UGTA), the country's central labor organization, has called for massive country-wide demonstrations and a rally to be held on Tuesday in the Algerian capital to denounce last week's two car bomb attacks, according to a notice issued on Monday and signed by the union's president Abdelmadjid Sidi Said.
"UGTA is calling on all workers to participate massively in the demonstrations across the country and in the rally which will take place at the Olympic Complex Dome" in Algiers, according to the notice.
UGTA has once more condemned the two car bomb attacks describing them as "criminal and barbaric," while expressing its support to national reconciliation.
According to the last casualty figures, the two bomb attacks in Algiers, one of which targeted the Government Palace, caused 30 deaths and injured over 220 people.
