Bollywood's hottest couple plan quiet wedding
font size

Following the storm over Elizabeth Hurley's opulent marriage, Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai and her actor boyfriend Abhishek Bachchan are expected to tie the knot in a quiet series of ceremonies this week.

Security will be tight at the Bachchan residence in Mumbai, where the wedding begins tomorrow.

Fire extinguishers will be on hand in case crazed fans of Rai and Bachchan set themselves alight in disappointment or try to perform Hindu fire ceremonies to break the marriage, the Mumbai Mirror reported.

Four-page wedding invitations - with the couple's initials "AA" embossed on the cover and signed by the Bachchan family have been sent out to select friends.

Abhishek, 31, is the son of actress Jaya Bachchan and screen legend Amitabh Bachchan.

The pair - dubbed "Abhiash" by local media in a melding of their two names after the fashion of "Brangelina" for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie - were engaged in January, capping months of media speculation about their relationship.

They have scored two hits in recent months, with their latest film "Guru" collecting 850 million rupees ($19.7 million) at the box office in January.

That followed their appearence in last year's Dhoom 2 (Have a Blast II), the year's highest grossing film in India.
