Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong met Monday in Beijing with Felipe Ramon Perez Roque, minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba.
Zeng said China and Cuban have deepened the diplomatic relationship which was forged 47 years ago. The political trust and cooperation in all fields have expanded in the recent years, he said.
"Chinese Communist Party and government value the relations with Cuba and would like to strengthen consultation and cooperation with the country based on equality and reciprocity," he said.
Perez expressed gratitude for China's assistance on economic and social development, saying Cuba would like to make joint efforts with China to push forward the relations and cooperation in all fields.
Perez, who arrived Sunday night for a four-day official visit, held talks with his Chinese counterpart Li Zhaoxing earlier Monday. He will meet with State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan Tuesday.
Perez is also expected to meet with some other Chinese officials, including those from the Ministry of Commerce, before concluding his China trip on Wednesday.
