BFA to look at corporate social responsibility and global warming
font size

The Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) should promote corporate social responsibility, BFA Secretary-General Long Yongtu said at a news conference here Friday.

The BFA, an annual gathering of business and political leaders on China's southern Hainan island, has attracted 1,410 guests this year, including Bill Gates and 679 other business leaders, from 36 countries and regions.

"We will focus on issues that have attracted wide attention in other parts of the world, but are still not given enough attention in Asia, such as corporate social responsibility and global warming", Long said.

The BFA hopes to help Chinese and other Asian companies understand these issues better as well as development trends in the world economy, he said.

The BFA will hold meetings on topics such as "A Green Agenda for the Real Estate Industry" and "Corporate Social Responsibility", according to the forum agenda.
