"Disturbia," a horror movie, topped the box office at the weekend in the United States, generating the biggest box office bucks for the second straight weekend, final figures showed on Monday.
The fright flick grossed another 13 million dollars, boosting its domestic take in two weeks to 40.2 million, according to Encino-based Media By Numbers.
"Fracture" debuted in second place, earning 11 million, followed by "Blades of Glory" (7.67 million); "Vacancy," which earned 7.6 million in its debut weekend; and "Meet the Robinsons" (6.9 million).
Rounding out the top 10 were "Hot Fuzz," which debuted at 5.8 million; "Are We Done Yet?" (5.1 million); "In The Land of Women," which opened with 4.7 million; "Perfect Stranger" (4.1 million); and "Wild Hogs" (2.8 million).
The top-grossing dozen films generated a combined 73 million dollars over the weekend, a 27.12 percent drop from the 100.2 million earned by the 12 highest-earning movies during the same period a year ago.
