China has more than 4.98 million private enterprises

Statistics published by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce on April 23 show that, in 2006, China's private enterprises developed rapidly. China had 4.981 million private enterprises, an increase of 680,000 or 15.8% from 2005.

The number of new private enterprises is growing all the time, as is the amount of registered capital of these enterprises. Private enterprises had a combined registered capital of 7.60285 trillion yuan, an increase of 1.46974 trillion yuan from 2005. The scale of enterprises expanded continually and there were 1.186 million real private enterprises with over 1 million yuan in registered capital, an increase of 270,000 from 2005.
