font size

Vietnam always adheres to the one- China policy, opposing to Taiwan authorities' separatist movement in any forms, Vietnamese State President Nguyen Minh Triet stressed on Friday.

Triet made the statement when meeting with Chinese ambassador to Vietnam Hu Qianwen at the Presidential Palace. The president said Vietnam, undergoing sufferings due to the national separation in a long period of time, sympathizes with the Chinese people's aspiration for national reunification.

The Communist Party of Vietnam and the Vietnamese government always support China's great cause for national reunification, Triet said, adding that Vietnam conducts only unofficial trade and economic exchanges and ties with Taiwan, and will never develop any official relationship with the region.
