Former board chairman of China's aerospace company ousted from top legislature

The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, on Friday voted to terminate the NPC deputy qualification of Chen Pengfei, former board chairman of Aerospace Communications Holdings Co. (ACHC).

Chen is suspected of "severely violating discipline" and is being investigated, according to the NPC source.

The 27th session of the NPC Standing Committee concluded here on Friday.

The NPC bulletin said it had lost three deputies with the deaths of Fu Tieshan, vice chairman of the NPC Standing Committee and chairman of the Chinese Patriotic Catholic Association (CPCA), Zhang Gaoyong, of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Deng Jitian, an official with the China Association for Promoting Democracy.

The NPC expressed its profound condolences over their deaths.

The 10th National People's Congress currently has 2,974 deputies, according to the bulletin.
