Arab experts and specialists on Monday called for holding an Arab conference to reach a unified Arab definition of terror crimes to cope with the circumstances of Arab societies and challenges facing the Arab peoples.
Terrorism has become an organized crime governed by twisted intellect and there should be a law on ways to tackle such terrorist crime and protect the basic freedoms of the citizen, said a statement released at the end of a seminar organized by the International Center for Future and Strategic Studies in Cairo.
Participants discussed Egypt's new anti-terror law which is currently being drafted and will replace the current emergency law when it was adopted.
The two-day seminar underlined the need for Arab countries to agree on a code of behavior and a set of unified laws to combat terrorism, calling for realizing transparency in all measures that are taken by the security bodies.
