The military wing of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement threatened on Thursday to move operations outside the Palestinian territories if Western-led siege remained in place.
In a statement sent to reporters, al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades blamed the Israeli occupation and America responsible on imposing financial and political siege on the Palestinian coalition government, which is led by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) .
"We will not simply watch these sides that impose the siege," added the statement, urging Arab countries to help the Palestinians overcome the sanctions.
Earlier on the day, Prime Minister Ismail Haneya expected the new coalition government may be dismantled if the siege remained in effect.
Meanwhile, Gaza militant groups resumed launching homemade rockets at southern Israel, while the Jewish state continued arresting activists in the West Bank, said Palestinian security sources.
The Popular Resistance Committees armed wing claimed responsibility on Thursday for launching two 100-mm mortars and two homemade rockets at an Israeli military base of Nahal 'Oz, located east of Gaza.
The group said in a pamphlet sent to reporters that the mortars and rockets attacks on Israel were a response to the campaigns of arrests the Israeli army carried out in the West Bank.
On Thursday, Palestinian security sources and Israeli Radio reported that the Israeli forces arrested 12 Palestinians, who are members of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, in the West Bank cities of Ramallah, Nablus, Bethlehem and Hebron.
