The call to boycott Estonian goods in Russia is doomed to fail, as many goods produced in the Baltic country have a European label instead of the label "Made in Estonia", Estonian Prime Minister Andrus Ansip said on Thursday.
It is reported that grocery stores in Russia have been pulling Estonian-made goods out of the shelves, since the local politicians and businessmen called for sanctions on products originating from Estonia.
"The goods produced in the 27-nation bloc have a 'Made in the EU' label, so the boycott is doomed to fail," Ansip said.
Estonia remains at loggerheads with Moscow over the removal of a Soviet monument from the center of the capital Tallinn.
The Estonian government decided last Thursday to pull down the statue located in the Tynismyagi square, provoking strong protests from Russian-speaking Estonians and sparking a row with Russia.
