Hollywood blockbuster "Spider-Man 3" attracted a record 825,000 viewers in South Korea on Saturday, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported on Sunday.

The film by Sony Pictures Co. also took in a record 3.2 billion won (3.4 million U.S. dollars) on Tuesday, when it opened in 816 cinemas across the country, said an official at Sony Pictures Releasing Intl. and Buena Vista Intl.

The previous single-day record was 790,000 for local monster thriller "The Host," the distributor said.
