Kuwait PM to visit Malaysia
font size

Kuwait Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Mohammad Al-Sabah will start a four-day visit to Malaysia from May 27, the Malaysian national news agency Bernama reported Wednesday.

Sheikh Nasser is expected to meet his Malaysian counterpart Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and attend the Third World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) here, according to Kuwait Ambassador to Malaysia Abdulhamid Al Failakawi.

"He (Kuwait prime minister) was very happy to receive the invitation which was delivered to him by (WIEF Foundation) Chairman Tun Musa Hitam ... He's looking forward to attending this important conference," Al Failakawi was quoted as saying by Bernama.

Sheikh Nasser, on his first tour to this southeast Asian country, will be accompanied by a big delegation of government and private sector representatives, said the ambassador.

The second WIEF was held in Islamabad, Pakistan, last November. This year's forum is organized by the Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute, a Malaysian non-governmental and non-profit "think tank".
