Vietnamese President starts China visit

Vietnamese State President Nguyen Minh Triet arrived Tuesday in Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province, to start a four-day state visit to China at the invitation of his counterpart Hu Jintao.

It is the first time that Triet visits China since he took office in June 2006.

During his stay in Beijing, Triet is scheduled to meet Chinese leaders.He will also visit some venues for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, including a stadium dubbed the "Bird's Nest" for its giant latticework structure of metal girders.
