China is investigating the Panama medicine issue, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said Tuesday in Beijing.

Jiang told a regular press conference that the Chinese government attaches great importance to the Panama medicine issue, and the results will be released immediately after the investigation.

"Relevant departments will handle the issue strictly according to the law,"said Jiang.

According to foreign media, a Chinese company was accused of making and selling a fake drug ingredient that led to dozens of deaths in Panama.
