font size

Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf Thursday called for resolution of the issues of Palestine, Iraq and Golan Heights.

Musharraf expressed his views while talking to Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Al-Moualem, who is in Pakistan to participate in the 34th Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers (ICFM) and, thereafter on a two-day bilateral visit, said the Pakistani foreign ministry in a statement.

Musharraf and Al-Moualem discussed the situation in the Middle East, especially Palestinian issue, Iraq and Golan Heights, it said.

"We should have a positive approach to resolve these conflicts so that peace could prevail in the region and beyond," the Pakistani president said.

Al-Moualem conveyed the greetings and warm personal regards of Syrian President Bashr-ul-Asad, which Musharraf reciprocated.

They discussed matters of bilateral, regional and international importance, the statement said.
