Indonesia won again a seat in the 47-member UN Human Rights Council after the election at the UN headquarters in New York Thursday.
"Indonesia was reelected in the selection for new 14 members of the UN Human rights Council," Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesman Kristiarto Legowo was quoted by leading news website Detikcom as saying.
Indonesia won supports from 182 out of 192 UN members for a three-year term, the second largest support after India's 185, he claimed.
Apart from Indonesia and India, the first round of election also resulted in the entries of Angola, Bolivia, Egypt, Madagascar, Nicaragua, Qatar, Slovenia, South Africa, the Netherlands and the Philippines.
Meanwhile, Italy and Bosnia were elected in the second round.
