China to introduce nuclear power technologies from WestinghouseChina's State Nuclear Power Technology Co., which was officially inaugurated Tuesday, is already close to concluding the talks with Westinghouse Electric Co. on introduction of the latter's third-generation nuclear power technologies, the Chinese company's president, Wang Binghua, revealed Tuesday. An agreement is expected to be signed next month, Wang said. The two companies signed a framework contract on March 1, which says Westinghouse will provide four third-generation pressurized water reactors: two for Sanmen City, east China's Zhejiang Province, and two for Haiyang City in east China's Shandong Province. The State Nuclear Power Technology Co., co-funded by the State Council and four large state-owned enterprises including China National Nuclear Corporation, is in charge of developing China's third-generation nuclear power technologies.
