U.S., Iraqi force find body of missing U.S. soldier in river
font size

A joint U.S. and Iraqi fished out body of one of three missing U.S. soldiers on Wednesday in the Euphrates River near south of Baghdad town, local police said.

The body had been found floating in the river near the Mussayab town, 70 km south of Baghdad, a source from Hilla police told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

Thousands of U.S. troops have been searching for three soldiers who were kidnapped near the town of Mahmoudiyah, 30 km south of Baghdad, when insurgents attacked a U.S. patrol on May 12, killing four U.S. soldiers and an Iraqi interpreter while three other soldiers went missing.
