China on Thursday called on relevant parties to strengthen diplomatic efforts, show a constructive attitude and resume negotiations as early as possible on the Iranian nuclear issue.
"We believe relevant resolutions of the IAEA and the UNSC should be enforced, while all relevant parties should strengthen diplomatic efforts, show a constructive attitude and resume negotiations as early as possible," said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Jiang Yu at a press conference.
Seeking a "long-term", "comprehensive" and "proper" solution to the Iranian nuclear issue is in the interests of all sides, she said.
Jiang said that China is studying the report on the Iranian nuclear issue presented to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Wednesday and believes it will be "objective" and "professional" as IAEA's previous reports are.
The report says Iran still defied Security Council Resolution 1747 and expanded its uranium enrichment program.
Iran on the same day dismissed the report as "devoid of any new points" and insisted there is no obstacle for the agency's inspections of its nuclear sites.
