font size

Three U.S. soldiers were killed and one injured on Thursday in insurgent attacks across Iraq, the U.S. military said on Friday.

A soldier was killed and another wounded in a roadside bomb attack on their vehicle in the Salahudin province in north of Baghdad, the military said in a statement.

Another soldier was killed when insurgents attacked his patrol with small arms fire in western Baghdad, another statement said.

A third soldier died of wounds sustained from small arms fire in the volatile province of Diyala in northeast of the capital, a statement said.

So far, at least 85 U.S. soldiers have been killed in Iraq in May, bringing the U.S. death toll to more than 3,435 since the outbreak of U.S.-led invasion to Iraq in 2003.
