Senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Li Changchun met in Beijing Monday with a Peruvian parliamentary delegation, vowing to further promote China-Peru ties.
China is ready to work with Peru to push forward bilateral relations of overall partnership, said Li while meeting with Lourdes Alcorta, president of Peru-China friendship group of the Peruvian parliament.
China and Peru, both as developing countries, face the task of developing economy and improving people's lives, said Li, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
The two countries have political mutual trust, complementary economy and common interests in international affairs, said Li, adding that closer China-Peru ties are conducive to the fundamental interests of both countries and peoples.
Li said the CPC will enhance cooperation and exchanges with the Peruvian parties to facilitate nation-to-nation cooperation.
Li appreciated Peru's adherence to one-China policy.
Alcorta, who heads the delegation to visit China from May 25 to June 1, said Peru will better cooperation with China in areas such as trade, investment and tourism.
Peru will continue to enhance coordination with China in international affairs and adhere to one-China policy, said Alcorta.
