Two more militants killed by Israeli strike on Hamas in eastern Gaza
font size

Two militants from the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) were killed at predawn Wednesday east of the town of Jabalia in northern Gaza Strip as an Israeli warplane struck them by one air-to-ground missile, Palestinian security sources and medics said.

The security sources said that an Israeli aircraft fired one missile at the two militants as they were trying to launch homemade rockets from eastern Gaza Strip to Israel.

The medics said that Palestinian ambulances rushed to the area and evacuated the two militants and brought them to the hospital. Their identity was not immediately known.

Earlier Tuesday evening, Israeli troops stormed the West Bank city of Ramallah and shot dead a Palestinian security officer. A second Palestinian militant was killed near the northern West Bank town of Jenin.

Early on Tuesday morning, two Hamas militants were also shot dead in a gun battle with a special Israeli army force east of Rafah town in southern Gaza Strip. A column of tanks and armored vehicles stormed the area.

Also on Tuesday, three Islamic Jihad militants were killed and three others wounded after an explosive device exploded as they were preparing it into one of the houses in central Gaza Strip.

Israel said that the aim of the military operations against Gaza is to force militants not to fire more homemade rockets from Gaza Strip at Israel.

Militant groups' leaders vowed not to accept any truce with Israel and to continue attacks as long as Israel continues its military operations against them in Gaza and the West Bank.
