Two Palestinians killed, three wounded in blast in Gaza

At least two Palestinians were killed and three others wounded on Tuesday afternoon in a mysterious explosion in the Palestinian refugee camp of Nuseirat in central Gaza Strip, medics said.

Palestinian eyewitnesses said that a huge explosion wrecked a house in the refugee camp, adding that when people, ambulances and firefighters arrived at the scene, they found two persons killed and three wounded.

Palestinian police sources in the refugee camp reported that the blast occurred as a group of Islamic Jihad (Holy War) militants were preparing an explosive device, adding that a technical problem in the device caused the explosion.

Medics in Gaza City's hospital reported that two persons were killed and three others wounded in the blast, one of them is still in critical conditions.

Meanwhile, Palestinian security sources and eyewitnesses in the West Bank city of Ramallah reported that an Israeli army force backed by jeeps incurred into the city amid intensive gunfire.

Eyewitnesses in the town said that dozens of Israeli soldiers surrounded a building in the city, apparently looking for wanted Palestinians.

Medics in Ramallah said that at least one Palestinian was killed during the raid on the city, adding that the victim was recognized as Omer al-Tiger, a member of President Mahmoud Abbas' Force 17.
