The third AFC President's Cup football tournament, to be played in Pakistan, is rescheduled to be held in September 2007, president of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) said on Wednesday.
Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Mohamed bin Hammam has confirmed this new schedule, said PFF President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat in eastern Pakistani city Lahore.
The eight-club football tournament, previously scheduled to be played in Lahore from May 17-27, has been postponed.
An earlier report of the state-run Associated Press of Pakistan said one of the reason of postponement of the event could be the delay in sending the names of its playing eleven by Bhutan.
AFC President's Cup is an annual international association football competition between domestic clubs sides run by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
The participating clubs for the 2007 AFC President's Cup are respectively from Bhutan, Cambodia, Chinese Taipei, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Tajikistan.
