The Nepali government has decided to open an embassy at the level of Charge d'Affairs in Israel in the business hub Tel Aviv, the National News Agency RSS reported on Friday.
Spokesperson of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Arjun Bahadur Thapa said the embassy would be at the level of Charge d'Affairs at the beginning and the office would be established soon.
He said the government of Nepal holds firm belief that the establishment of the embassy would extend and strengthen the existing friendly relations between the two countries.
The Israeli government decided on May 1 not to grant work permit and visa to Nepali workers on grounds that there was no embassy of Nepal in Israel.
Israel and Nepal established diplomatic ties on June 1, 1960.
Israel is the most popular job destination for Nepali female workers. It has absorbed more than 12,000 workers till date, according to the report.
