Six U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq on Saturday

Two more U.S. soldiers were killed in northern Iraq on Saturday, bringing the death toll to six in insurgents' attacks across Iraq, the U.S. military said on Sunday.

Two soldiers were killed in a roadside bomb attack near their patrol during operations in the northern Nineveh province, the military said in a statement.

Another soldier was killed and two others injured in a roadside bomb attack in western Baghdad, the military said.

A fourth soldier was killed with small arms fire while patrolling south of Baghdad area, a separate statement said.

One soldier was killed and four more wounded when a roadside bomb hit their vehicle in Diyala province, northeast of the capital, the military said.

A sixth soldier died of wounds sustained from a roadside bomb explosion near their vehicle while conducting operations in the volatile Diyala province, another statement said.

Two more soldiers were also wounded in the attack, it added.

More than 3,480 U.S. soldiers have been killed since the U.S.- led coalition forces seized Iraq in 2003, according to media tally based on Pentagon figures.
