font size

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) withdrew from southern Gaza Strip Tuesday morning after one-day searching operation of smuggling tunnels and arms stockpiles in Gaza.

A spokeswoman of IDF told Xinhua that the operation was carried out principally to find explosive devices and smuggling tunnels dug between Gaza and Egypt that may be used to infiltrate Israel.

During the operation several dozens of Palestinians were detained for questioning and some were taken to Israel for further questioning.
