Roberto Carlos joins Turkish side

Brazilian full back Roberto Carlos left Real Madrid for Istanbul club Fenerbahce, said the Turkish champions Wednesday.

The 34-year-old defender, having played for Real for 11 years, made true his words in March of leaving Real at end of this season, according to Fenerbahce's website.

Roberto Carlos, who was a member of Brazil's 2002 World Cup winning squad, had wanted to join Fenerbahce last season but failed to realise it because of his Real Madrid contract.
