Hong Kong woman ill with Legionnaires' disease

A 52-year-old Hong Kong woman has confirmed the year's third Legionnaires' disease case, said the Center for Health Protection of Hong Kong on Wednesday.

According to the Center, the Lantau woman traveled to Macao on May 14 to 16 and came down with a fever and cough on May 26. She was admitted to a private hospital on May 31 and her condition is stable.

There were three Legionnaires' disease cases in 2001, with 11 in 2005 and 16 in 2006 in Hong Kong.
