South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun met in Seoul on Thursday with visiting President of the All-China Women's Federation Gu Xiulian, who was here for the forth Sino-Korean women leaders' forum.
Roh welcomed Gu's visit, urging more multi-level exchanges between the two countries' women in various fields.
Roh said China's development brings about good opportunities for South Korea and bilateral ties have achieved healthy and stable development in various fields.
Gu, also vice-chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, briefed Roh on the important role Chinese women play in politics, economy and social life.
She said exchanges between the two countries' women have always been an important part of the friendly ties between the two peoples, and their role in promoting and deepening bilateral friendship and mutual understanding is irreplaceable.
The All-China Women's Federation will continue to actively promote communication and cooperation between women in more fields, making a contribution to the further development of Sino-Korean ties and Northeast Asia's peace and prosperity.
