A car bomb went off near a police commando patrol in northern Baghdad on Saturday, killing a commando member and wounding five people, an Interior Ministry source said.
"A booby-trapped car detonated in the morning near a passing police commando patrol near a bridge in the Shaab neighborhood," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The blast damaged a police vehicle, killing a commando member and wounding three others aboard, the source said.
The attack also damaged several civilian cars, wounding two civilians, he added.
Violence and daily bombings continue infesting the capital's streets despite the U.S.-Iraqi troops crackdown on insurgency and violence.
