The European Union (EU) is supporting Nepal with 15 million euros (some 20 million U.S. dollars) for implementation of the Renewable Energy Project providing solar energy systems to around 300 villages in 21 remote districts in Nepal, The Kathmandu Post reported on Friday.
According to a statement issued by the EU on Thursday, the project aims to create renewable energy infrastructure in rural areas to facilitate income generation, sustainable growth and delivery of social services, thus alleviating poverty in the country.
