A set of special stamps on "the 10th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region" would be issued on July 1, Hongkong Post announced Monday.
On the same day, a joint stamp issue with China Post on "the 10th Anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland" will also be released. Associated stamp products will be on sale from the same date.
"The 10th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region" special stamp issue comprises six stamps and a hologram stamp sheetlet.
The stamps, presenting a rainbow effect, capture momentous aspects of the development and achievements of the HKSAR over the past decade. The stamp sheetlet presents "A Symphony of Lights" in a hologram to produce a flickering effect.
The China Post-Hongkong Post Joint Issue on the 10th Anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland is the first joint stamp issue of China Post and Hongkong Post.
This stamp, depicting the "Forever Blooming Bauhinia", adopts the same design as one of the three stamps to be issued by China Post at the same event on the same day.
To celebrate this special occasion and to exemplify the successful implementation of "One Country, Two Systems", Hongkong Post will also produce a Limited Edition Prestige Stamp Album containing two stamp panes.
One pane will include "A Symphony of Lights" hologram stamp sheetlet and a serviced First Day Cover affixed with a set of six stamps of "The 10th Anniversary of the Establishment of the HKSAR".
To make these special stamp issues even more meaningful, Hongkong Post will set aside a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the stamp products issued on July 1 as a charitable donation.
