Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed to Xinhua that 11 tons of medical supplies by Red Cross entered the Gaza Strip through Erez, a main border crossing between Gaza and Israel, on Monday afternoon.
The IDF has announced earlier in the day that medical supplies was to be transferred to Gaza through Erez crossing.
Israel has closed Gaza's borders after the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) seized control of Gaza last week, sparking fears of a humanitarian disaster in the coastal strip whose residents have been facing shortages of food and other essential supplies.
Also on Monday, Israeli fuel company Dor Alon restored normal supplies to the Gaza Strip following one day suspension of fuel shipments to the Hamas-controlled territory.
"Beginning today, we have resumed the regular supply of fuel to the Gaza Strip," a statement released by Dor Alon, the sole supplier of fuel to Gaza.
