Bush says "all options on the table" with regard to Iran
font size

U.S. President George W. Bush said Tuesday that "all options are on the table" with regard to Iran's nuclear issue and warned that Iran must face consequences for its actions.

"My position has not changed and that is all options are on the table," Bush said before his talks with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert in the White House, a hint of possible military confrontation with Iran.

However, the United States hopes to resolve Iran's nuclear issue diplomatically, Bush added.

The United States has often hinted a possible military attack against Iran for its defiance over its nuclear program, but has also insisted that it focuses on diplomatic means to try to resolve the issue.

The United States has accused Iran of trying to develop nuclear weapons under the cover of a civilian nuclear program. However, Iran has said its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only.
