Ferrari's Raikkonen disappointed performance but till combative
font size

Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen Wednesday admitted that he was disappointed over his performance and that of his team so far this season but pointed out that the championship was still open.

In an interview posted on Ferrari's F1 website, the Finn said " I'm disappointed. We've lost ground on our direct rivals but it's not over yet. In this sport the situation can turn around very quickly. For sure no one on the team is giving up".

Raikkonen is in the middle of three days of tests at the British Silverstone track ahead of the French Grand Prix on July 1.

Raikkonen said: "we're testing some modifications on the car. There's a new aerodynamic package and some other things. Hopefully we can close the gap on McLaren".

"One thing is certain: We really need better results at the upcoming two races than we got in North America. And a lot will depend on the tests this week " he added.

So far this season, Ferrari has won three races compared to four for McLaren-Mercedes.

McLaren's rookie driver Lewis Hamiliton leads the drivers standings with 58 points, after making the podium in every race and winning two Grand Prix.

McLaren tops the constructors' standings with 106 points, compared to 71 for second-placed Ferrari.
