Tanzanian mini-league after round two
font size

Mtibwa Sugar and Ashanti United tasted defeat again within three days in the Tanzanian Mini-League Soccer Tournament, according to reports reaching here on Tuesday.

Mtibwa Sugar went 3-1 down to JKT Ruvu in Arusha in Group A while Ashanti United were beaten 1-0 by Polisi Morogoro in Morogoro in Group B.

Defending first-division champions Young Africans last Saturday defeated Mtibwa Sugar 3-2 in the opening round while last year's runners-up Simba SC downed Ashanti United 2-1.

Six clubs are playing in two play-off groups to sort out the top two clubs to represent the country in next year's African Champions League and the Confederation Cup tourneys.

The clubs are playing double round-robin games which conclude on July 4.
