Two policemen were killed and four people injured in a roadside bomb explosion targeted police patrol in eastern Baghdad on Sunday, a well-informed police source said.
"A makeshift bomb struck a police patrol in the morning near the al-Thalathaa market in Palestine Street in eastern Baghdad," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The blast badly damaged a police vehicle, killing two policemen aboard, the source said.
Several civilian cars were also damaged by the blast, wounding four people, he added.
Insurgents frequently attack Iraqi security forces accusing them of collaboration with the U.S. occupation.
