Pakistan Monday said it is concerned about the safety and security of Pakistanis and people of Pakistani origin in UK in view of British hunt for the suspects behind a failed car bombings at Glasgow airport and in London.

Local media reported as many as 35,000 Pakistanis living in British city of Glasgow are facing a threat of violent backlash from white British amid overnight wall chalking "kill all Pakis" after two "Asian looking" men tried to blow up the city airport on Saturday.

The report said that British police have started searching the houses of the Asians, mostly Pakistanis after the failed attack.

"Pakistanis must not be harassed," spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said at her weekly press briefing.

She said she hopes the British government would take necessary steps to ensure safety and security of their own people and those who reside there.

"Foreign Office is in touch with Pakistani mission in Britain in this regard," the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said Pakistan condemns intended terrorist acts in Britain.

"We are not aware of any details about origin of those who were planning to carry out these attacks," Aslam said.
