The iPhone 4S’ Siri will not be searching for places with prostitutes. Customer service staff with Apple Inc. said the company has added information about “escort service” into banned information.
Siri is a voice control software used on iPhone 4S and iPhone 5. It can realize human-machine conversations, calling, sending text messages, introducing restaurant, asking about the weather, and setting alarm clock through voice command.
Some netizens said when opening Siri on an iPhone 4S running on IOS 6 and shouting "I want prostitute", Siri will reply, "OK, the following 15 pieces of information about ‘escort service’ are found." The information displays discos and night clubs, with addresses and distance marked.
As discussion about this gets heated on the Internet, a reporter with eastday.com noticed that Siri has ceased to offer such information. Customer service staff with Apple Inc. said the information about "escort service" are included in banned information, which also include information against Chinese laws, such as violence.
