HONG KONG, June 18 (Xinhua) -- A Hong Kong information and communications technology (ICT) delegation departed for Dalian on Tuesday to attend the 11th China International Software and Information Service Fair (CISIS) and promote ICT exchange and co- operation between Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland.

The delegation was led by the city's Commerce and Economic Development Bureau with around 50 members.

The CISIS is organized by the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the People's Government of Liaoning Province.

It is China's only national software fair approved by the State Council and the largest annual ICT event with international prominence. The fair will be held from Thursday to Sunday.

The forum to be held on Friday with the theme "Hong Kong - Your partner for Mainland and international markets" will explore how ICT enterprises in the two places can join hands to go global and how overseas enterprises can participate in the process of informatization on the Chinese mainland.

While in Dalian, the delegation will visit digital entertainment and software companies as well as incubates at the Dalian High-tech Industrial Zone and Dalian Tiandi ICT Region to learn about their latest developments.
