Zero-energy house built by students of Peking University

The exterior structure of the house is nearly finished. The construction of the solar-powered "pleasant house" co-designed by nearly 100 students from Peking University and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign started on June 19, 2013. (CNS/Yang Yang)

It is said that the house will be equipped with appliances with remote or voice control technologies, and a robot which is able to clean the floor and move stuff will work in it. Located on the open space opposite to the Peking University Science Park, the "pleasant house" was co-designed by the students from Peking University and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. It took them two years to complete the design of the zero-energy house.
