Belonging to Taihang Mountains, the Hongya Grand Canyon, located 20 kilometers east of Lingshi County, Jinzhong City, north China's Shanxi Province, is one of the eight scenic spots of Taiyueshan National Forest Park.

The Hongya Grand Canyon Scenic Spot covers a total area of 28 square kilometers and the gorge is more than 20 kilometers long.

The scenic spot is rich in well-preserved vegetation, and its forest coverage rate reached more than 85%. There are 233 species of woody plants.

The Taihang Mountains is a mountain range running down the eastern edge of the Loess Plateau in Henan, Shanxi and Hebei provinces. The range extends over 400 km from north to south and has an average elevation of 1,500 to 2,000 meters.

Taiyue Mountain National Forest Park is Shanxi's largest national forest park.
