National Geological Park of Huoshi Village is located in Liupan Mountain, 15 kilometers northeast from Xiji County, north China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The fantastic Danxia landforms there can rival that in Guilin, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
However, the best scenery may not exist in the scenic spot. The wonderful landscapes also can be found at the back hill of Huoshi Village. The unique Danxia landforms there are also breathtaking.
Danxia landform is formed from red-colored sandstones and conglomerates of largely Cretaceous age. A very peculiar feature of Danxia landscape is the development of numerous caves of various sizes and shapes.
